Opportunity Overview

In this role, you will serve as a specialist in forecasting methodologies and statistical modeling with a responsibility of leveraging Argus’ strengths to deliver manifold returns in value-added solutions to its clients.  By leading the use of advanced forecasting & statistical methodologies, such as Time series, multivariate regression and neural networks to a client’s and Argus’ cross-industry customer datasets, you will build forecasting models that help Argus clients improve and scale the handling of their business management objectives (e.g. loss forecasting,  risk management, business planning and strategy).  You will have ownership of all aspects of the solution development.  You will be expected to own some aspects of the research and development, client management and delivery of engagements that require an expertise in advanced statistics.  You will also be expected to manage and mentor junior team members and begin to serve as a leader at Argus.  


Responsibilities include:

  • Build and develop Argus’ expertise in the leveraging of advanced forecasting and statistical methodologies using      Argus owned forecasting products or other software packages (e.g. R) and Argus’ proprietary cross-industry      databases to build forecasting models for Argus clients
  • Oversee all aspects of the design and development of statistical models, including their deployment, to ensure delivery of the effective and turnkey solutions for Argus’ clients.  Will have accountability towards establishing and delivering the models/solutions per set standards and timeframe
  • Support the management and building of client relationships by serving as an industry expert in statistical modeling and Argus data, managing executive requests and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Support Argus’ emergence as one of the leading analytics service providers in the world by helping define its culture of team-work, ensuring delivery of high quality work products by and following company-wide processes that allow for a systematic improvement  of company systems.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors small staff of analysts

Qualifications include:

  • Masters plus 4 – 6 years of relevant work experience, PhD is a plus:

-        Statistics

-        Applied Mathematics

-        Mathematics

-        Econometrics

  • Prior experience in Forecasting methodologies  or Survival Analysis is preferred
  • Strong modeling and data manipulation skills.  Ability to read, interpret and explain complex statistical theories and practices to a wide audience of varying technical capability
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a problem-solving environment
  • Experience with advanced statistical package such as R is expected.
