Verisk's Human Resources team is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to contribute to the analysis, design, and administration of our global compensation strategy and program. Here you’ll work with a fun group of accomplished HR professionals who are responsible for partnering with business teams to help them achieve short and long term talent management needs and administer company policies and procedures. You’ll perform market pricing, support compensation planning, and conduct various data analyses—and more. This position’s key responsibilities:

• Assist in the monitoring and analysis of market trends to maintain the competitiveness of employee pay and Verisk pay practices via compensation surveys, collaborating with the HR Business Partners, managers, and the corresponding consulting firms

• Support the annual compensation planning process (merit salary increases, promotions, bonuses, and long-term incentive awards)

• Assist in compensation program education and training activities

• Consult to HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition colleagues on employment offers and counteroffers and other compensation related events

• Collaborate with HRIS Analytics and HR Operations colleagues regarding compensation data, workflows, projects, and processes

• Gain exposure to executive compensation management, assisting in benchmarking of executive pay and in designing executive pay strategies

• Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, and perform various compensation analyses and make recommendations

• Advise HR Business Partners and managers regarding off-cycle salary increases and promotions

• Support merger and acquisition activities, assisting the HR Business Partners in the review and integration of compensation plans and job evaluations.

• Partner with the Finance team regarding payroll and budgeting for salary increases, bonuses, and long-term incentive awards

• Monitor compensation management trends and regulatory developments


• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience

• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in Compensation

• General compensation knowledge including compliance with the state and federal laws that apply to the plans

• Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organization, and prioritization skills

• Math and detail oriented

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word.  Microsoft Access experience and knowledge of PeopleSoft (version 8.3 or 8.9) or other HRIS a plus.

• Demonstrated experience manipulating and analyzing data from multiple sources
