AIR Worldwide is currently searching for candidates for the position of Senior Analyst in the Data Management Group in the company’s Research division.  The Data Management group collects, creates, analyzes, stores, and shares a vast number of datasets used by members of AIR’s Research Department, ranging from complex global geospatial datasets to catastrophic event insurance claims datasets. 

Your contributions will help provide our researchers with sophisticated datasets upon which they make informed decisions regarding their research agendas. 

Main responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Provide support on the production, maintenance, and performance of Data Management Group databases and datasets including aiding in data acquisition, quality assurance, data cataloging and archiving, and natural catastrophe analysis projects.
  • Develop tools for geospatial and statistical data analytics with supporting documentation and internal training manuals.
  • Train researchers on internal processes and datasets.

Experience, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Analytical Skills – background in geoscience, geography, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering fields.  Strong understanding of statistics is a plus.
  • Geospatial Skills – experience with geospatial analysis, spatial data collection and creation.
  • Programming Skills - (C#, C++, Python, FORTRAN, MATLAB, etc.) is required.
  • Database Skills – potential candidates should have a working familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, or other relational database system.

 Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree preferred in geoscience, geography, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience
