Summary

Verisk Analytics is seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Investor Relations Officer to play a key role in the development, implementation and management of Verisk’s investor relations and communications.  The successful role holder will partner closely with senior management, internal legal counsel, corporate communications, finance and accounting teams.  You'll be responsible for developing and executing strategies and tactics to ensure the marketplace understands and fairly values the company and the ongoing development and dissemination, as well as communication strategy, of Verisk’s values and attributes to the investment community. 

This position is based in our Jersey City, NJ office, conveniently located across the street from the Newport path station.  Just one stop from Christopher Street, we’re an easy 10-minute commute from lower Manhattan (and about 20 minutes from Brooklyn).

The day to day expectations of this role are:

• Develop and execute Verisk’s investor relations program

• Serve as a key company spokesperson to the financial community

• Develop monthly IR reports to provide management with information regarding developments in the financial markets and perceptions of investors

• Support senior management in their roles as company spokespersons in coordinating and executing outreach efforts

• Draft Q&A, conference call scripts, slides, and related materials for quarterly earnings release process, conference calls, investment conferences, and shareholder meetings; also, will provide leadership in the development of key themes and issues to be presented

• Collaborate in the preparation of annual reports and other SEC filings

• Attend conferences and road shows; plan investor conference meetings and work with management to develop presentations and associated materials

• Develop and continually improve investor relations plan, creating strategies, communication messages, tactics, timelines and budget

• Proactively manage relationships with existing and potential institutional investors and analysts including targeting, relationship development, tracking and providing market feedback to management

• Track, manage and summarize earnings estimates, analyst reports and compilation of analyst financial models

• Provide special analyses and project research as necessary

The successful candidate will have:

•  5+ years of progressively responsible financial experience in public companies, ideally in an investor relations and/or research analyst capacity

• A bachelor’s degree is required (preferably in finance/accounting); MBA desirable

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge of the current regulatory environment

• Solid understanding of public company accounting issues, financial analysis

• Basic knowledge of SEC disclosure requirements and filings

• General knowledge of stock exchange rules and regulations and proven experience in working with Wall Street and sell-side and buy-side analysts

• Excellent project management and presentation skills

• Expertise in MS Office

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with the ability to convey company strategy and messaging

• Excellent financial, investment, Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills are assumed

• Possess a high level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information

• An energetic and resourceful team player who can roll up their sleeves

• Ability to travel as required

• Strong analytical, modeling and critical thinking skills

• Experience in development and execution of financial communication strategies; excellent writing ability

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and work proactively with other functions to understand the company’s story and vision.
