Verisk Insurance Solutions is hiring an experienced Director – Cyber Underwriting to lead development and management of a cyber underwriting product.


  • Build, own and execute upon an ambitious product vision and marketing plan in support of carriers’ and distributors’ cyber underwriting needs
  • Leverage customer interactions and market research to identify new product innovations and enhancements, including new data sources, internal integration and external partnership opportunities
  • Lead the product portion of sales opportunities to ensure budget (top and bottom lines) delivery and effective positioning of the solution’s value proposition and customer comfort with the product capabilities
  • Revenue responsibility and accountability driving sales and the customer experience associated with commercial underwriting products that can be delivered for commercial cyber underwriting optimization
  • Liaise between product colleagues, marketing, and sales to ensure streamlined messaging driven by customer needs and how existing and emerging Verisk capabilities can solve these needs
  • Provide industry thought leadership through white papers, articles, presentations, conferences, and customer conversations


  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree and/or insurance designations (e.g. CPCU, SCLA) a plus
  • Cybersecurity background demonstrated with certifications such as CISSP
  • 7 to 10 years commercial insurance product, and/or underwriting experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Cyber insurance products
  • Experience with alternative datasets for cyber risk evaluation preferred
  • Experience with developing cyber coverage products for large and small businesses preferred
  • Experience in underwriting or closely working with underwriters on a day to day basis preferred
  • Understanding of the basics of technology and the convergence of cybersecurity, software, data, and consulting
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.  Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a room full of industry executives but can also dive into the details of a challenging quantitative problem to solve customer needs
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving and negotiating skills; business creativity is a must
  • Quantitative background with a focus on high quality data and analytics is a plus
  • Up to 25% travel or as per business requirements


This role will report to VP – Underwriting, Commercial Lines.
