Our Corporate Operations group is seeking a Customer Experience BI Platform Architect / Data Strategy Owner to drive high performing matrix teams and partner closely with leaders across Verisk business units to identify, define and manage the centralization of a customer focused big data / bi tool enabled environment.   Enable real-time customer experience analysis and insights to drive customer experience, business growth and efficiencies across all Verisk lines of business.  This role is strategically focused on enablement, management and governance of customer data across all customer touchpoints to advance customer experience. This role is currently an individual contributor role, that is supported by central shared services for development.  Following program adoption, this role and direct supporting team will need to grow to support Verisk cross BU CX demand.  This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the newly formed Customer Experience growth story in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, open, fun and collaborative environment.


Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Product Owner-  Customer Centralized Data Warehouse & Insights Organized Data Layer (ODL) in a Big Data platform. Define current and target data set requirements.  Define bidirectional data management requirements. Define the data acquisition strategy and manage internal and external resources to ensure that desired levels of breadth and quality are achieved.  Build roadmap for releases and prioritize efforts.  Establish ongoing coordination with the global data governance team to define and execute data management efficiency improvements.  Create the measurement plan for data management, including database readiness metrics and metrics that capture the impact of database readiness on downstream marketing processes.  Partner with BUs to understand key business metrics, develop insights and enable real-time trigger based exception reporting / dashboards to highlight opportunities for action.   Interpret published data, and in partnership with BU CX liaisons to overlay business knowledge and create/support action plans to drive performance improvements. Summarize business opportunities identified, subsequent changes made, and incremental customer value created. 
  • New Solutions and Automation – Be innovation lead on new analytical and reporting solutions to enhance Verisk customer experience across all touchpoints.    Lead pilot proof of concepts in voice analytics, robotics, text mining and analytics.


Technical Requirements:
  • Experience in operating as a product owner and driving technology projects
  • Experience in building foundational data requirements to enable reporting and analytics initiatives
  • Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence domains
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile)
  • Experience with Cornerstone / Hadoop strongly required
  • Exposure to many of the following tools SQL, XML, HIVE, Pig, Spark, HTML, Javascript, C/C++, R, SAS, Python, Matlab, Tableau, Datameer, Cognos, Microstrategy, Informatica, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Netezza - strongly preferred
  • Understanding of ITSM Framework and Production Support Model
  • Experience with Sales force and the service tool environment strongly preferred


Skills & Background: 
  • 12-15 years of relevant work experience and preferably a Master's Degree or equivalent, ideally in computer science
  • Strategic thinker who can partner with key stakeholders to drive the direction of the business.  Superior communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with ability to solve ambiguous / open ended business challenges with the ability to share vision and act as an advocate for data management and customer experience
  • Strong relationship management and team orientation; ability to lead and influence others in a cross-functional environment
  • 5+ years of data management leadership experience with proven ability to attract, develop and lead a high performing and engaged (even when matrixed) team
  • Demonstrable experience capturing and managing business requirements for cross-functional teams, creating a data roadmap and prioritizing projects that result in transformational outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for innovation with demonstrated ability to drive data innovation and resultant business growth; experience in applying existing and emerging technologies to deliver against customer goals
  • Proven experience driving data quality initiatives, with high attention to detail, joining data from disparate systems and finding new ways to provide data consumers with easy access to required information
  • Comfort working in a global, cross-functional and matrixed environment
  • NJ location preferred
  • Targeting Sr Manager or 'New' Director level candidates
