ISO's Property Claim Services (PCS) unit is the internationally recognized authority on insured property losses from catastrophes in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada and Turkey.  PCS thoroughly investigates and collects data on disasters and provides analytics that define the extent and type of damage, establish dates of occurrence, and determine the geographic areas affected.  In addition to property catastrophe, PCS provides independent third-party industry loss estimates for specialty lines, which include global marine and energy, cyber and terror.  


The PCS Claims Analyst will work on a variety of projects for the specialty lines of insurance related to data gathering, testing and analysis.  The scope of projects and responsibilities will be in part driven by the experience, aptitude and interest of the applicant.


Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
  • Coordinate with internal and external sources within insurance and capital markets to obtain relevant catastrophe loss data and convert it into usable information for the PCS team and its clients.
  • Comb industry sources- both public and private, to find applicable data, then convert it into usable information for PCS purposes.
  • Lead projects to help refine processes and enhance the ability to analyze and accurately interpret data.
  • Organize, launch, and manage PCS initiatives as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
    • Degree or studies in a quantitative field with focus on mathematics, statistics or data analytics strongly preferred
  • P&C experience with working knowledge of surplus insurance, marine and cyber insurance lines required.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able and willing to work outside of regular work hours and some weekends, if required.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within and outside of the United States, if required (5-6 trips per year).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Multi-lingual with fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills required
